Anatomically, they say that the lens of the eye is the window to the soul. This week, we learned that the same could be said for photography. The lens of a camera allows us to see things in ways we may never had before. On Day 1, we were issued these amazing cameras graciously donated to us by Canon, and we were all excited to try them out! From the various kinds of flowers that sprawl across campus to the fountain situated towards the center of campus, we scampered across campus capturing every moment we could.
It was all so lovely, until we came upon our greatest struggle: M. M. Roberts stadium. You know how some things are better said than done? Well...let me just explain. We stepped onto the turf, and our eyes swept up to the very top; the view inspired us to get up to the top of the bleachers and take some shots (photography shots, that is). We began our trek, and by around the 20th step, is when the fatigue and South Mississippian sun began to set in. We pushed through, however, and by the time we got up there and looked down at the football field below us is when we cooled off--moreso emotionally-- and realized how worth it was. We went back down to the field, our unstable legs quivering like gelatin, and although hot, hungry, and a tad bit cranky, we went back to our break room inspired by photography and all of the emotions and stories it brings along with it.
