Our multimedia workshop teaches high-achieving Mississippi high school students how to cover the news using print, photos, videos, broadcast, radio, social media and more. Students will spend 8 days on campus, from June 14 to 21, 2015, learning these skills and covering real events. This year, participants will cover the 10th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, a hurricane that devastated much of the Mississippi and Louisiana Gulf Coast. The workshop is sponsored by the School of Mass Communication and Journalism, which is in the College of Arts & Letters at The University of Southern Mississippi.
