This week has been AMAZING! I couldn't have spent a week out of my summer any better than I did. I have learned so much about the world of journalism and the characteristics needed to really make up a successful journalist. Dr. Chen and all the other professors and instructors this week have been so inspiring and incredibly helpful. Interviewing so many courageous and fearless advocates and journalists have made me realize I can do exactly what they're doing if I work hard and stay persistent. The chaperones were really helpful and gave us more of a young person's perspective. My future career in journalism and mass communications seems much more clear and realistic now that I have attended this workshop.
I wouldn't be able to finish this blog post, if I didn't mention all the great friends I have made over this past week. Bonds were made quickly and I am so glad I was able to meet these truly talented individuals that I otherwise never would have met. Plans for reunions are already being made. I will miss each and every participant!
Overall this week was productive, yet at the same time exciting and fun! I was even inspired to make a Twitter account and I am now even contemplating creating my own blog! I know it's sad to say good-bye but as cliche as this may seem, I know it's only the beginning for all of us because we have so much more to accomplish!
