My classmates (Raegan and Markel) and I, just wrapped up our story on the "Children of Freedom Summer" panel. It was a very inspiring morning. Dr. Anthony Harris, Ms. Irene Williams and Ms. Debra Delgado gaved their touching stories on being kids during Freedom Summer of '64. Each panelist had a different but similar story. Every person in the room was engrossed by the panelists' every word. As Dr. Harris told the story of him being arrested at 11 years old, he said "I don't have a record, but I do have a memory with the Hattiesburg police department." I even met Mrs. Gwendolyn Simmons, who was a volunteer of SNCC. She is also in the documentary "Freedom Summer" airing June 24th. This will forever be an experience I will remember.
