Coming into tho workshop, I thought that I had it all figure out when it came to what I want to do with journalism. I was set on being a sports broadcaster at ESPN. However, day 2 here at Southern Miss has opened my eyes to all sorts of types of journalism. Today, we started to learning about radio. I knew a little bit about already, mainly because of my dad having his own radio show in Destin, FL. But I was still able to learn a few things about it. My group then headed off to a news writing class. We were paired up with someone to write biographies about one another. This helped a lot getting to know other people and step out of our comfort zone. We then took a break and ate lunch. Once we came back, my group learned about multimedia and how to set up our cameras for an interview. We finished up the day learning about television broadcasting and learning how to make a news package. All of this information and hands-on experience in one day? It's a bit overwhelming. Although, we aren't complaining because it's our passion. We are hungry for all of this information, so we are begging for more all day long. I cannot wait to see what the rest of the week has in store for us!
